To counteract the rationing of wartime Britain petty criminals - nicknamed Spiv's - would deal illicit goods on the black market. Renowned for being suave individuals, the word Spiv is also said to have originated from 'spiffy' meaning impeccably dressed.

Despite the postwar period being associated with hardship and shortages, Soho was a thriving oasis for bohemian characters during the 1940's.

Our classic drainpipe trousers with an improved fit. Straight leg cut with 1 ½" turnups, contrast check pocket facing, zip fly, belt loops and two single welt back pockets.

Match with the Soho Spiv Jacket.

Offered here in 100% wool.
