Decorated with Petersham Ribbon and hand stitched in our London studio, this bespoke design further highlights the unique style of the Stove Pipe. The overall look is reminiscent of a Magpie’s eye catching feathers.
Petersham Ribbon takes its name from the trendsetting 18th Century ‘Beau’, Charles Stanhope, Viscount Petersham. Otherwise known as the 4th Earl of Harrington, he also inspired the Harrington hat.
The Stove Pipe or Stove Top has been part of hat history from the late 18th Century. Our version is designed with a sweeping side tilt on the crown and some purposeful deformation around the top of the crown giving it a slight nod to Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat.
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind” – Dr. Seuss
